FAQ's
How do I choose a bracket?
When you choose a bracket the important factors to consider are:
How do I want to mount my screen?
Will the bracket attach to my screen?
Will the bracket be strong enough?
By answering these questions we can guide you to the correct bracket for your needs. The options for mounting the screen are flat to the wall, flat with the option to tilt the screen forward (useful to avoid glare or if your screen is mounted above your eye-line) and full motion (this allows you to move the bracket from side to side, in and out and tilt it).
The next thing is to decide if the bracket will attach to the TV. On the back of the screen will be a number of screw holes. By measuring the distance between the holes and comparing the measurements with the diagrams for the brackets you can see if the TV will fit to the bracket.
The other important factor is the weight of the TV. All the brackets have a maximum weight that it is suggested that you put on them. If your TV is heavy you may need to get a stronger bracket.
Once you have checked these factors it is a case of picking the bracket that you like best. We offer a good, better, best solution so that you can decide if you want a bracket that gets the job done, or one that offers a few extras like cable management and easy adjustment.
Will the bracket fit my screen?
On the back of the screen will be a number of screw holes. By measuring the distance between the holes and comparing the measurements with the diagrams for the brackets you can see if the TV will fit to the bracket. The two options with the brackets are VESA (see below for further information) and universal. Put simply, VESA brackets are designed to fit in with industry standards and universal brackets allow for a larger variety of hole positions.
In general the VESA positions are commonly found on screens up to 32” and larger screens often use larger spacing due to their size, although this is not always the case.
To help you decide if a bracket will fit your screen we have put an image with the dimensions that the bracket can accommodate on with the brackets. Also, where available, we have put a link to the manufacturers screen fitter guide which will give information on particular TV models.
What is the difference in the GOOD / BETTER / BEST brackets?
We offer a selection of brackets for a particular solution so that you can choose a bracket depending on its use. The GOOD products offer what you need in a bracket, sturdy and reliable, but without some of the frills of the other brackets. The BETTER brackets offer the reliability of the GOOD brackets but with a few extra features like screw fixing covers and cable management. The BEST range offers all this and more with easy adjustment and extra strength design.
It’s up to you which bracket you choose, all the brackets offer excellent value for money with the different features.
What is VESA?
VESA is the Video Electronics Standards Association, and a VESA bracket is designed to fit with screens that have standard hole patterns on them for wall mounting. The most commonly found sizes are 100mm x 100mm, 200mm x 100mm and 200mm x 200mm. If we say a bracket is VESA compliant we will state the sizes that it will accommodate.
Will I be able to install the bracket myself?
All of the brackets come with instructions and we have also made videos to guide you through how to install them. You still need to assess the wall type that you have and get the correct type of screws and you may need to get someone else to help hold up the larger brackets and hang the screens, but the brackets are all quite easy to put up.
Is there a lot of assembly to do?
All of the brackets come at least partially assembled, by choosing a BETTER or BEST bracket you reduce the amount of assembly that will be needed.
